When will PS4 Pro go on sale and at what price?
PS4 Pro will go on sale on November 10 at a recommended retail price of RUB 34,999.
Will there be standalone or exclusive games only for PS4 Pro?
There will be no PS4 Pro exclusive games. Because PS4 Pro and regular PS4 are part of the same family, both systems are fully compatible with all previous, current and future PS4 and PlayStation VR games. All PS4 games are PS4 Pro games and vice versa.
All PS4 games released after the PS4 Pro launch on November 10th are expected to support the enhanced PS4 Pro experience either immediately, or in some cases shortly after release via a downloadable update. Will all PS4 games be compatible with PS4 Pro?
Yes, all current PS4 games are fully compatible with PS4 Pro. If developers want to add PS4 Pro enhancements to previously released PS4 games, they can do so through downloadable updates.
Will SIE continue to sell and support the regular PS4?

Does PS4 Pro require a 4K TV?
No. On 4K TVs, the PS4 Pro can display images at much higher resolutions than the regular PS4. However, on your HDTV (720p, 1080i, 1080p), the PS4 Pro will still improve the quality of the game.
Additionally, PS4 games with resolutions lower than 1080p (maximum HDTV quality) will be able to play at upscaled 1080p resolution on HDTV.

What resolutions does PS4 Pro support?
On 4K-capable TVs, games can be played at up to 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels, or 2160p). On HDTV, games are played at 1080p resolution.
Will PS4 Pro support my already downloaded PS4 games, saves and PlayStation Network friends lists?
Yes. The PS4 Pro exists in the same digital ecosystem as the regular PS4; they belong to the same PlayStation Network and the same PS4 community. This means you can start playing a game on PS4 Pro, load your saved data to online storage using PS Plus (sold separately), and then continue playing on a regular PS4 system in another room. Of course, all content and save data you've already purchased on PS4 are fully and immediately compatible with PS4 Pro.
What if I already have a regular PS4? Is there any easy way to transfer my games, saves and Share videos from regular PS4 to PS4 Pro?
Yes. You can copy your games, save data, videos and screenshots, system settings and other data from a standard PS4 system to a PS4 Pro using a regular Ethernet cable. This is how you can transfer data from one regular PS4 to another regular PS4, from a PS4 Pro to a regular PS4, and from one PS4 Pro to another PS4 Pro, as long as both systems are running system software update version 4.00 or higher and are using the same PSN account.

Best of all, PS4 Pro supports 4K output with settings for 2160p YUV420 and 2160p RGB (the recommended format if supported by your TV) and up to 60fps when connected to a 4K TV using a Premium HDMI cable(or HDMI 2.0).
Does PS4 Pro support High Dynamic Range (HDR)
Yes, PS4 Pro fully supports HDR10 at launch. HDR10 is a common HDR format used by major entertainment companies.
What is HDR?
High Dynamic Range (HDR) is a new standard for screens with significantly increased color depth and contrast compared to Standard Dynamic Range, a somewhat outdated standard now used in conventional HDTVs. In general, HDR-compatible content, when played back on HDR TVs, produces noticeably better, richer images that are closer to the natural perception of the human eye. This means deeper blacks while maintaining crisp detail, brighter highlights and a much wider range of color tones that are impossible to reproduce on legacy HDTVs.
Unfortunately, it's simply not possible to demonstrate the full benefits of HDR technology because it requires an HDR-capable screen and materials. But you can watch this video from Sony with simulation of “before” and “after” frames.
Will PS4 Pro support Dolby Vision HDR?
There are currently no plans to support Dolby Vision.
Does PS4 Pro require special hardware?
Only if you want to use 4K and HDR. In other cases, no. Like the regular PS4, the PS4 Pro system fully supports existing HDTVs (720p / 1080i / 1080p). PS4 Pro can also support 4K output to 4K-capable TVs via a Premium HDMI cable (one such cable will be included with PS4 Pro). To enjoy HDR capabilities, you'll need an HDR10-capable HDTV and games or other HDR10 content.
Apart from faster gaming performance, 4K features and support for 4K video streaming, are there any other benefits to the PS4 Pro?
Yes. The PS4 Pro comes standard with a 1TB hard drive, faster Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) and a third USB 3.1 Gen.1 connector on the back of the case. PlayStation VR games will play better on PS4 Pro, streaming features like Share Play and Remote Play will work better, and videos recorded using the SHARE button will play back in higher resolution.
Otherwise, the PS4 Pro will be very similar to the regular PS4. This applies to both the user interface and functionality.
Why use a Premium HDMI cable to connect your PS4 Pro to a 4K TV?
For the best experience, you need a PS4 Pro system, a 4K TV with a Premium HDMI input connector (often indicated in blue), and a Premium HDMI cable. A Premium HDMI cable is included with your PS4 Pro, but if you need a longer one, make sure the cable you choose is a Premium HDMI cable.
The new Premium HDMI format supports 4K signal transmission at 60 frames per second (60 Hz). Older High Speed HDMI cables (such as HDMI 1.4) can technically reproduce a 4K signal on 4K TVs, but the frame rate will be limited to 30 per second (30 Hz).
What else do you need to know about PS4 Pro support on 4K TVs?
With 4K and HDR standards now the latest technology, we recommend carefully reading your 4K TV's documentation to fully understand its capabilities.
Will PS4 Pro support PlayStation VR?
PS4 Pro will fully support PlayStation VR, just like the regular PS4. It is important to note that the maximum resolution of the built-in PlayStation VR screen is 1920 x 1080; it does not support 4K resolution. Additionally, the PS VR headset does not support HDR features.
As such, the PS4 Pro's increased power gives VR developers the ability to improve graphics quality, smoother or more stable framerates, and make visual improvements to supported games. Developers can add PS4 Pro features to PS VR games after release using downloadable updates.
Which PS VR games will support PS4 Pro features?
Since neither PS VR nor PS4 Pro have yet released at the time of publication of this article, we will only be able to list specific games closer to the release of PS4 Pro.
Does PS4 Pro support Ultra 4K Blu-ray discs?
No, the PS4 Pro's built-in Blu-ray drive does not support the new Ultra 4K Blu-ray Disc format. Supports the same Blu-ray discs as the regular PS4. However, Blu-ray Disc Player supports the function of enhancing the quality of data from DVDs and Blu-ray Discs.

Will there be changes to Remote Play or Share Play on PS4 Pro?
Yes, the increased processing power of the PS4 Pro will provide significant improvements in streaming when the Internet bandwidth is sufficient. Remote Play on PC, Mac or Xperia will allow you to stream gameplay on your PS4 Pro system in up to 1080p resolution. Share Play users on a regular PS4 or PS4 Pro will also be able to stream their game on the PS4 Pro system at up to 1080p resolution.
In both Remote Play and Share Play, PS4 Pro's adaptive streaming technology will optimize the stream quality to the best possible with the available internet bandwidth. We recommend using a wired Ethernet connection with a speed of at least 15 Mbps (not Wi-Fi).
Will the SHARE button record higher quality video when playing on PS4 Pro?
By recording your PS4 Pro-enabled games using the SHARE button on your DUALSHOCK 4 controller, you'll get higher-resolution game clips and screenshots than on regular PS4. Features vary by game, but select projects support recording up to 1080p clips and up to 3840 x 2160 (4K) screenshots.
Will I be able to stream my game in higher quality?
Yes. At release, you'll be able to stream YouTube videos at up to 1080p at 60fps.
Are Sony's new 4K TVs suitable for PS4 Pro?
We're not making any specific recommendations for the PS4 Pro yet, but Sony has a long history of making TVs with cutting-edge technology, and their reputation extends to 4K TVs as well.
What size 4K TV should I buy?
We can't make any official TV size recommendations as it depends on the size of the room, the distance from the seats to the screen and the type of materials. 4K games and movies offer four times the resolution of a regular 1080p signal, so to fully enjoy the enormous capabilities of 4K, invest in 4K TVs with a large enough screen.
If you're shopping for a 4K TV for your PS4 Pro, we recommend looking at a model that supports HDR10 to get richer, clearer images from HDR10-compatible games and movies.
If I use a PS4 Pro with a 4K TV and a PS4 game without PS4 Pro features, will it play in 4K?
Yes, older PS4 games without special PS4 Pro features will play in 4K resolution on PS4 Pro and a 4K-capable TV with a Premium HDMI cable. However, you won't notice any visual improvements without supporting PS4 Pro features.
You can only experience 4K resolution on PS4 Pro connected to a 4K compatible device (such as a 4K TV or projector) with a Premium HDMI cable.
4K mode will need to be activated on both the PS 4 Pro and a compatible 4K output device. You also need to enable this option on all intermediate devices that are used for connection (for example, on a compatible 4K home theater/AV receiver).

And in fact, this is a great opportunity to enjoy not quite native UHD 4K on PS4 Pro. All this at 60 FPS, an impressive achievement - even if this undeniably beautiful game doesn't offer the complex, complex worlds of the other fantasy games featured here.
Less significant improvements include better quality grass (you'll be looking at it all the time, so that's important) and increased depth of field effects.
Rez Infinite
Sure, this extraordinarily weird game is tuned for PS4, but Rez has always been about silky visual settings. Diablo 3
Here's something more interesting. While the iconic game doesn't offer native 4K resolution or HDR, Diablo 3 shows how Blizzard has cleverly taken advantage of the PS4 Pro's extra performance. Diablo uses dynamic resolution to provide better fidelity on consoles and improve lighting techniques while maintaining a solid 60 FPS.
When you go into closed sections of the game, like New Tristram's tavern or Deckard Cain's house, you're stuck in native 4K resolution, but when you're caught up in dynamic open-air combat, Diablo 3 can hover between 1080p and 3840 x 2160 pixels. For the most part, this solution is significantly better than static 1080p, the scaling is imperceptible while moving. Vivid environments and an advanced effects engine, as well as ambient occlusion, add to the appeal of this game.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Sony's exclusive smash hit continues the adventures of Nathan Drake in full force on PS4 Pro, although don't expect the game to massively transform the already lush world of the original game.

This is one of the few games targeted at the PS4 Pro hardware, and it's not hard to see why - with the first information about PS Plus, many potential PS4 Pro owners were preparing to check out the new console in full.
Infamous Second Son and spin-off First Light use a checkerboard effect instead of upscaling the native resolution, but you'll be hard-pressed to tell the difference in the implementation of this technology. Using upscaled UHD resolution from 1800p, the incredibly popular action game is shimmering with HDR lighting effects, causing Infamous Second Son to light up even the highest quality displays.
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Whether you're hooked up to a 1080p screen or a stunning 4K panel, Rise of the Tomb Raider promises an experience that doesn't need any improvement.
Since we're justifiably concerned about the visual quality of the games in this ranking, you'll be glad to hear that the checkerboard effect applies to the 2160p resolution here too. Sticking close to 30fps, even without HDR mode the icy adventures look very cool. The game is superbly detailed, making it great for decent screenshots.
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
This game may seem dated right now, but Shadow of Mordor received so much love from the developer that it deserves a rewatch on PS4 Pro. And while we're seeing dynamic upscaling again, most of the game is played at 2160p, downscaling is rare and unnoticeable.
The game doesn't have HDR features, which is disappointing as the nighttime fight scenes could have benefited from it. But for a rich and large open world that runs in UHD resolution, Tolkien's world has never looked better on consoles.
Final Fantasy 15
A full update for Final Fantasy's most ambitious title is here, but Square-Enix is working on tweaks to the game's performance on PS4 Pro, but you can still enjoy it now. Assuming you can handle the choppy framerates (not a deal breaker, trust me), Final Fantasy 15 also uses a high-quality 1800p checkerboard format, along with improved shadows and texture filtering. A real feast for the eyes.
If you have access to an HDR TV, even better. Square-Enix fully realizes dynamic range on the PS4 Pro, ensuring almost physically scorching desert sunlight and refreshing light in the deep, dark caverns of dungeons.
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Imagine Jurassic Park, but with robot dinosaurs, think of it as close to the world of Horizon: Zero Dawn.
Born from the minds of Killzone, the open-world adventure game was a revelation among the best PS4 Pro games when it released in early 2017, becoming one of the most challenging sandbox games available to PlayStation 4 owners. From full-on stealth missions to blasting huge mechs monsters, the game knows how to raise the player's pulse.
But perhaps the most impressive feature of the game is the visual effects. The game shines especially brightly on PS4 Pro in 4K resolution with HDR, which makes the flora and fauna of the post-human future dazzlingly alive. The latest PS4 Pro does its job well and is a great way to unleash the latest console's capabilities.
